Thank you for considering Valuflor for your new floor covering; We install and service seven days a week; Our highly trained installers and inspection team make sure the flooring product you have chosen is installed correctly - The First Time!  We would like to give you the best installation possible.  To do this, we need your cooperation.  We will attempt to contact you before your installation to confirm the date.  If for some reason we are unable to reach you, please contact us.

Before the installers arrive, please -
1.  Remove small movable items, such as lamps, portable TVs, stereo systems, personal computers and items which might be broken, out of the area to be covered.  Hallways that have hanging or breakable items, should be cleared.  When necessary, we will move the stove, refrigerator, and heavier pieces. 

2.  If you have a grandfather clock, pool table, piano, aquarium or stereo system that requires special handling, please make arrangements to have them moved or disconnected before the installers arrive.  If you have computers, electrical equipment, etc., please disconnect and move these.  Wall-units and entertainment centers should be emptied and separated if they are bolted together.

3.  Please remove from the refrigerator anything which might spill or be broken during movement.  Please cut off all gas or water-running appliances.  If the china cabinet is to be moved, please remove all dishes, silverware, etc.

5.  If your new floor covering is to be glued directly to an existing floor, it will be necessary to remove any accumulation of wax from the floors to be covered.  This may be accomplished using one (1) cup of ammonia to one (1) gallon of hot water.  Remember, never mix ammonia and bleach.

6. VALUFLOR is not responsible for damage to concealed phone lines and security system wires.

7. VALUFLOR is not responsible for sub-floor problems occurring after installation; i.e. nail heads backing out of subfloor, subfloor movement, etc. We will be glad to assess your sub-floor and suggest to you our recommendation.

When the installers arrive -
Our installers are carefully trained and competent to install your new floor covering; however, some of them get nervous when the customer is looking over their shoulder or talking to them while they work.  So, while your new floor covering is being installed, enjoy a good book, a TV show or coffee at your neighbors.  And, if you have small children, please keep them occupied in another part of the house.

Some points to understand -
1.  Shoe molding or quarter round - Please understand that some paint will chip as the molding is removed. Although the installers will exercise care, old or improperly installed molding may crack during removal. We do not replace shoe molding. We recommend that shoe molding be removed and left off wall to wall carpet installations.  You may want to remove it yourself and touch up the paint on your baseboards.  This gives neater installation and avoids the necessity of painting on top of your new carpet.  These are times when it will be necessary for you to touch up painted areas.  VALUFLOR  does not warranty the disconnection or connection of electrical wires; i.e., TVs, security systems, etc.

2.  Door - Our company policy states that we will not cut doors.  Our installers are not properly equipped to cut doors. If you wish we can arrange for such services.

3.  Dust - Some of our operations, such as sanding, removal of old floors, installation of underlayment and removal of old carpet and padding may create an unusual amount of dust or dirt.  We always attempt to keep it to a minimum, but please understand.

4.  If you have a gas stove, please arrange disconnection and reconnection with your gas company.

5.  Seams - We use the latest technology and techniques, but their are some products which show seams more readily... for example, Berbers.  We cannot guarantee invisible seams. 

6.  During the installation of your floor covering, baseboards may be scratched requiring touch-up painting by you after installation is complete.

7.  We are not responsible for customer measurements.

Vinyl,  Laminate & Wood floors -
Sweep or vacuum regularly - Grit is a mortal enemy of vinyl.  Also, use only recommended cleaners from Flooring manufacturers. When it is necessary to move appliances, do so only over a piece of masonite or plywood.   After installation, laminate & vinyl floors seams are sometimes visible.  This is normal, and depends on lighting and the product style.

Carpeted areas -
Frequent vacuuming will add life to your carpet - we recommend an upright cleaner or, if a canister type is used, use with a motorized head.  Settings are very important - too high, the brushes will not lift and separate the pile; too low, it will cause excessive wear.  Usually the setting that leaves your carpet the most eye pleasing is also the setting for cleaning.  You should expect a certain amount of shedding.  This will dissipate over a period of time.  If you carpet seems to lose its luster and life, it probably needs cleaning.  Carpet manufacturers recommend hot water truck-mount extraction cleaning.
